PymOlympics

Ready for the first edition of the PymOlympics?

The challenge: set up a team, prepare an experiment driven entirely by PyMoDAQ v5 and come to Montpellier to demonstrate it.

To register, click here, before April 12th, 2025 if you need an Arduino kit, or September 12th, 2025 otherwise.

Tournament rules:

  • Each team must present an experiment driven entirely by Pymodaq v5.
  • The type of equipment used must be accessible to all, typically devices that you can find in a practical course room. If you don't have your own equipment, the tournament organizers can provide an “Arduino sensor kit”, which you can request when you register. If you wish to use your own equipment, we ask you to send the list of this equipment to the competition organization for validation before September 12th, 2025 at jt-pymodaq25@sciencesconf.org, in the interests of fairness between teams. The idea is to avoid using equipment that is too expensive.
  • An experimental demonstration is expected during a dedicated session at the PyMoDAQ days, so please choose equipment that is easy to transport.
  • A few minutes' video presentation of your project must be submitted by October 5th, 2025. These videos will be made public at the end of the tournament.
  • Source code of your plugins must be deposited in a public github repository for sharing with the community.
  • Teams are of any size and can include members from different labs. We strongly encourage the participation of women! The list of team members, a team name and a contact e-mail address must be provided when registering, which should be done exclusively via the form accessible here.
  • The jury's assessment criteria are based on the originality as well as the complexity of the project. The ergonomics of the graphic interface is a bonus.
  • Question should be addressed to: jt-pymodaq25@sciencesconf.org
